tracktown: I love this because in the past many muslim girls weren’t even allowed to play sports (one of my best friends is muslim, so I know). This is a real breakthrough. Only in the last century were women allowed to participate in marathons. A while ago women weren’t allowed to play sports, and many religions and cultures thought it was wrong for a girl to play sports and that their only purpose was to be a housewife and raise the children. At one point women were not even considered persons! This picture really shows what women have been able to do!
